About Prague - Prague Airport

The Ruzyně Airport is the only international airport in Prague and one of the four big international airports in Czech Republic – others are located in Ostrava, Brno and Karlovy Vary.

Prague-Ruzyně airport is located on the north western outskirts of the city, some 20 km from the city centre. The airport clears more than 10 million passengers annually and this number is still increasing. 103 destinations around the world are operated by more than fifty carriers who operate direct connections, scheduled and occasional.

In January 2006, the airport opened new terminal Sever 2 (North 2). It is intended for a comfortable and quick transport of passengers within the borders of the Schengen system. Terminal Sever 1 (North 1) operates all non-Schengen countries (including UK and non-European countries).

To further increase in capacity, Prague Airport also plans to build a new parallel landing runway, which should be ready by 2010.
