Czech cardinal Miroslav Vlk celebrated his 75th birthday yesterday and Catholic Church prepared decent celebration that includes concert and mass. Both the gala concert and the mass take place in St Vitus Cathedral on the Prague Castle.

The concert starts on Friday from 7pm, there is free entrace for everybody and it’s for free. The concert will present compositions of Bohuslav Martinu (The Mountain of three lights), Antonin Dvorak (Te Deum), Leos Janacek (Lord's prayer) and Petr Eben (Ubi caritas et amor, op. 31).

Prague Archbishopric also prepared thankful mass in the same central church - in St Vitus Cathedral. The mass starts on Saturday 19 May from 10:30am.

Cardinal Vlk has been the highest representative of the Catholic Church in the Czech Republic for 16 years. He became Catholic pries during Prague Spring in 1968, but later he was denied to work as a priest. He was forced to work as a window cleaner by the Communist regime. Last year, Miroslav Vlk went to Vatican to elect the new Pope.
