The Prague Lucerna Palace hosts the annual Africa Ball on Friday. The aim of the project headed by the Humanist Movement (Humanistické hnutí) is to collect money for aid projects throughout the African continent. It is a part of an international Campaign of human aid.
Ples Afrika will give Lucerna Palace really different look. Instead of traditional winter balls, it fills the palace with African beats and wild dances.
It aims to show the students the beauties of different cultures and to admire the beauty of differences. The ball also aims to prevent racism and discrimination or un-toleration among young people. It should also promote the motivation for the involvment of the young people in public life.
The participants can also win the trips to Marocco and Greece.
Performers include Bengas, Tam Tam Orchestra, Tam Tam Batucada, SM Lomoz, Ba To Cu, TiDiTaDe, Ekvator, Luboš Nohavica & Boys, Rubén Peguero plus the dancers from the COT oriental dance centre.
