The ninth year of the One World International Documentary Film Festival starts in Prague on 28 February 2007. The festival aims to "bring a different kind of movie stars" and focuses on human rights across the world. The respect and attractiveness was awarded by the UNESCO Honourable Mention for Peace Education.

More than 120 documentary films covering 34 countries are on the festival list. There are competitions in the categories. Apart from the Main Category, the movies will compete in Short Forms Competition and Right to Know Special series.

The festival lasts till 8 March 2007 and is held under the auspices of Václav Havel, former Czech president. In addition, the festival is endorsed by the Minister of Culture Václav Jehlička, the Mayor of Prague Pavel Bém.

The entire festival is really great event. Six Prague cinemas will participate in the festival with the festival centre in Lucerna Cinema on the Wenceslas Square.

During the festival also special projections are scheduled. Film-goers could, for example, see all Czech documentaries produced last year. The organizers will give the visitor a glance into the Latin American social documentary.

But all can what what they like: the range of the offered films are really wide.
