A1 Grand Prix motor racing makes its Czech debut this weekend, from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 October 2006. The championship heads to the 5.41km Brno track in the Moravia region of the Czech Republic, close to the Austrian border. The circuit is known mostly by Moto GP races.
The championship is a cut-price version of Formula 1, in which drivers represent their country rather than a constructor. Tomáš Enge, a test driver in Formula 1 during one season some years ago, will represent Czechs.

Brno is the second largest Czech city, located on south Moravia, close to the Austrian border. It is around 200 km south east from Prague. Easily accessible by car on the highway D1. The event takes place at Masaryk circuit
