Blues In The Forest Is Not In The Forest Anymore

28 July 2006, 18:10 - Music
Sixth year of the Blues in the Forest festival moved from Lipno in South Bohemia (as it was intended) several hundred kilometers north on the Vltava stream to Prague's Střelecký ostrov. The festival should last five days according to preliminary plans, but the organizers underestimated their abilities and interest and amount of financial donations from sponsors. Fans of blues music will not be disappointed, organizers say on their website. All day intensive programme (which starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday 30 July 2006) on one of Prague islands offers both Czech and foreign stars.

Headliners will be Canned Heat from United States, who were one of the attraction in legendary Woodstock festival. Their song »Going Up The Country« became an unofficial anthem of the whole »mud-festival« in 1969. Czechs are represented, for instance, by formations -123 minut or Jan Spálený & ASPM.

The previous five years took place in Řevnice near Prague in real so-called wood cinema with unrepeatable atmosphere.
