Visiting President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus met separately with Greek prime minister Costas Karamanlis and with parliament president Anna Psarouda-Benaki.
During the meeting with Karamanlis, the two men discussed Greek-Czech bilateral relations as well as European issues, according to the Athens News Agency (ANA).
In his two-day visit with wife Livia to Athens, Klaus was awarded honorary doctorate in economics by Athens University. However, some students demonstrated outside the campus during the ceremony, protesting the recent Czech Republic’s decision to ban the Communist Youth Union.
