European Film Festival in Prague

It happens from 25 January 2007 to 4 February 2007, in two independent cinemas in Prague - Aero and Svetozor. An what? 14th year of film festival Days of European Film (Dny Evropskeho filmu) opens its gate and presents the best from filmmakers coming from European countries, ranging from Great Britain to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The festival brings about 50 new films, both full-length and short. The organizers say, that all films are not older than 4 years. They also care to give voice to various genres. The festival is organized by embassies and culture institutes of the countries, by the city of Prague and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

And foreign diplomats from embassies located in Prague founded the festival 14 years ago, when the offer of European films in Prague cinemas was not so broad as it is today. The situation has changed a little bit, but the festival still attracts more visitors. While only 6 thousand of them came in the first years, organizers now expect more than 20 thousand visitors during the week.

Tickets are even cheaper than in standard cinemas - 90 CZK for each. You can buy them in the box offices in the respective cinemas or book via internet. Film lovers can also spend a night with attractive films: Both cinemas prepare all-night long Marathon of European film, that means 5 different film will be showed one after one without break.
