Czech Republic's Katerina Neumannova won the initial long distance women's cross- country event of the 2006/7 season.
Neumannova needed a time of 24 minutes 19.9 seconds for the 10 kilometre-long course in Sweden's Gallivare, beating Olympic champion Kristina Smigun for more than 24 seconds.
The 33-year old Czech, who hold Olympic gold but still misses to win the overall World Cup title. Commentators say this year she finally succeeds.
