New Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek on Wednesday denied any frauds in the energy firm VAE, which is now under suspicion and investigated by police. Topolanek (a senator that time) had a stake and held board positions in that company, that took a loan in 1998 which has not been fully repaid.
»Representatives of the VAE company are suspected, now the investigation is proceeding in a standard way,« media cited the police spokeswoman.
Topolanek was appointed at the beginning of this month but his minority administration is expected to lose a confidence vote in the Parliament on 4th October.
