The Civic Democratic Party (ODS) won the local elections in Prague, winning 53.3 percent of the vote, followed by Social Democrats (CSSD) with 15.42 percent. It is supposed current city mayor Pavel Bem will continue for the next four years.
Turnout was 42.17 percent in Prague, Czech Statistical office, responsible for counting votes, said.
The Green Party gained 8.03 percent of the vote, Communists (KSCM) 7.91 percent and the Association of Independent Candidates-European Democrats (SNK-ED) 5.46 percent of the vote.
Blue (according to colour of ODS) Prague is quite rare among European capital. Some of the capitals vote usually more to the liberal left, such as London or Vienna.
